What is the best recipe for sugar cookies that you want to decorate?
Also, are their prints or veins or stamps that that imprint the decorations on the cookies- I would like to be able to copy a design ( like tracing a picture) instead of creating my own design.

Thanks
Rhonda

Hi Rhonda:

Cookie stamps are a good way to create decorated cookies with a minimum of fuss. You simply press the stamp into a ball or slice of dough and the stamp leaves a decorative impression or bas-relief. The main consideration is choosing a recipe that will bake up without distorting the image too much. Rycraft has a large selection of terra cotta cookie stamps, and HOBI Cookie Molds features hand-carved wooden molds. Both sites offer cookie recipes appropriate for use with their products.

Stay tuned for sugar-cookie and gingerbread-cookie recipes that are perfect for decorating . . . We're moving into cookie season!

Thanks for reading,
